Shirley Jean Elkins of Chelsea, age 73, passed away at home on Thursday, April 30, 2015.
She was born on May 1, 1941, in Lake, Kentucky, the daughter of Creed Russell Howard and Irene (Roberts). On Feb. 11, 1962, she married Bobby Joe Elkins in Wayne, MI, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2014. Shirley had lived in the area since 1977, coming from Westland. She enjoyed coaching softball, horses, and was involved with the Brownies and Girl Scouts.
