Sounds and Sights Festival seeks volunteers

VOLUNTEER-11-17_webChelsea Area Festivals and Events, presented by Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Chelsea, is looking for volunteers to help with the annual Sounds and Sights Festival July 28, 29 and 30.

Celebrating its 40th season, the weekend event will draw over 15,000 visitors and will feature national and regional live music acts, local food and brew, an open-air art market, classic car show, chalk art contest, and multiple events activities for all ages.

“Sounds and Sights Festival activities and events can only happen with the generous support of our wonderful volunteers,” said volunteer coordinator Anita Mosier.

Volunteer opportunities are broken down into manageable two-hour slots in a variety of areas like the KidZone, Art Market and Social Tent. Most activities require multiple volunteers, and groups looking to give back to the community are encouraged to sign up together.

“I have found volunteering during the Sounds and Sights Festival is more fun than work. Again this year, we are hosting a ‘Volunteer Orientation and Appreciation Event’ to welcome everyone and to show them how much we truly appreciate their help,” said Mosier.

The orientation will take place Wednesday, July 27 in the Sounds and Sights Festival Social Tent. Volunteers are treated to a dinner provided by the Chelsea Main Street Church and will receive an event staff t-shirt. An event RSVP and online sign-up form can be found at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F094BADA78-2016.

If you have any questions, please contact Anita Mosier, Volunteer Coordinator at 734-717-3580 or [email protected].
