(Chelsea Update would like to thank Denise Cugliari for the information in this story.)

On Monday, Dec. 2 from 7-9 p.m., women, regardless of their religion, are invited to a special gathering at the Chelsea First United Methodist Church to begin the Advent season together.

According to information about the event, with the Christmas season us, there will be shopping, baking, parties, cards, photos, mall Santas and presents – all kinds of opportunities to get so caught up in the chaos and the details, and we forget what that first Christmas was all about.

The Women’s Advent Service is an opportunity to relax and catch your breath, to reflect on Christmas and all that it offers.

Join us as we prepare for a meaningful Christmas and experience a service that will leave you with feelings of peace, love, joy and hope that will carry you through Advent and beyond.

A variety of delicious desserts and coffee will be served in Grams Halls at 7 p.m.

At about 8 p.m., we will hear moving stories of hope, peace, love and joy.

You may RSVP here, on a sign-up sheet in Grams Hall inside the church or by contacting Denise Cugliari.

Please RSVP by Nov. 27 to ensure that we have enough tables and desserts prepared.

And feel free to invite other women who could use some fellowship before the start of the Christmas season.
