St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea hospital has been named a 2018 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey, a health care industry leader in measuring, understanding and improving patient care.

The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations across the country that have achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in the category of Patient Experience.

“Our staff works very hard to ensure that each patient receives safe, high quality care and is made to feel as comfortable as possible throughout their stay with us,” says Nancy Graebner, president and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea.  “I congratulate our entire team for their continued commitment to providing excellent service to our patients.”

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustain performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.

“We are proud to partner with St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to support their mission to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey.  “They are truly dedicated to delivering exceptional care in the communities they serve, and their commitment to capturing and acting on patient experience feedback is a very powerful demonstration of this.”

Recently, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades also recognized St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea for having the highest safety standards, announcing that the hospital had received an “A” ranking on its Fall 2018 scorecard. It was the 13th “A” ranking for the hospital.
