Stamp Out Hunger food drive fills Faith in Action pantry

Thanks to Chelsea’s letter carriers and the community’s generosity, Faith in Action received a huge supply of food donations May 12 during the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

It’s the largest one-day food drive in the country as letter carriers collect non-perishable food donations left at mailboxes.

More of the non-perishable food collected by the Chelsea letter carriers and donated to Faith in Action.

“In spite of the rain, postal workers rose to the occasion and now our food pantry is bursting at the seams,” said Sarah Shugart, program coordinator for Faith in Action. “This helps set us up for the summer when donations tend to go down.”

Shugart says the need for food donations is still there through the summer.
