The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has delayed the culvert replacement project on Old US 12 Rd between Liebeck Rd and Sylvan Rd in Sylvan Township due to traffic impacts with the official detour.
Amtrak is performing work at the railroad crossing on Francisco Rd in Jackson County which is the detour route for the WCRC project.
WCRC will not begin the culvert replacement until Amtrak has reopened Francisco Rd. Unfortunately, WCRC does not have an official start date. However, once the culvert replacement begins, Old US 12 Rd between Liebeck Rd and Sylvan Rd will be closed to ALL traffic and a detour will be posted. Construction is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete.
WCRC will continue to send out project updates as the project progresses. All dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions and scheduling.
