Hunter Lay, Aaron McDaniels and Hunter Neff, eighth graders at Beach Middle School, attended the Elite World Series last week at the ESPN Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

The boys play for the U13 Michigan Blue Jays travel baseball team out of Ypsilanti.

Along with their teammates, they placed 5th at this highly competitive invitation-only baseball tournament, and played teams from Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas.

The Michigan Blue Jays also held the record for the best overall scoring team of the tournament.  Because of their success at the Elite World Series, the team has been invited to play at the National Youth Baseball Championship in Memphis, Tenn.
