Volunteers needed for Hometown Holiday events

Get into the holiday spirit early this year and volunteer for one of the fun activities available during this year’s Hometown Holiday on Friday – Sunday, Dec. 6-8.

Visit with Santa & Santa’s Workshop
Friday, Dec. 6, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at The Depot, 125 Jackson St. Sponsored by Chelsea Children’s Co-op. Children will get a photo with Santa and make gifts in his workshop.

Gingerbread House Workshop -2 sessions
Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. – noon and noon to 1 p.m. at the Chelsea First United Methodist Church, 128 Park St. Sponsored by Lake Trust Credit Union, children decorate a gingerbread house for the holidays.

Annual Chelsea Light Parade
Saturday, Dec. 7, 6 p.m., along Main Street (street closed to thru traffic during the parade). The 8th annual parade featured dozens of lighted floats and vehicles, marching bands, and the big guy himself, Santa. The parade starts at Chelsea State Bank’s south-end lot and ends at the Chelsea Teddy Bear Company for the free community afterglow party with refreshments.

Live Nativity Scene
Friday, Dec. 6, 7:30-8:30 p.m., next to Chelsea First United Methodist Church, 128 Park St. and includes live animals and Christmas choir.
