On Saturday, April 21, the Chelsea softball team competed in a 4-team round robin tournament at the Chelsea Softball Complex.
Chelsea won all 3 games beating Farmington 4-3, Livonia Churchill 14-8 and Holt 12-2.
The team was led by Junior pitcher Maddie Kemp who recorded all 3 wins in a strong pitching performance. Kemp pitched a total of 18.2 innings on the day giving up 14 hits, 6 earned runs, while striking out 18 to improve her record to a perfect 6-0 on the season
Offensively, Chelsea had several strong performances Saturday. The team was led by Peighton Root who tallied 5 hits and 5 RBI’s, Sydney Hines who had 4 hits and 5 RBI’s, Sydnee Liedel who had 5 hits and 3 RBI’s, Stephanie Dark who had 3 hits and 4 RBI’s, Caroline Hirth who had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s and Maddie Vasquez who had 4 hits and an RBI on the day.
With the wins, the Lady Bulldogs run their record to a perfect 9-0 for the season.
