The Global Marketplace is moving to Main Street in downtown Chelsea to 105 South Main St., which is the upper level of the former Chelsea Underground Art Gallery.

And, beginning Nov. 1, you can visit the West Middle Street location for items with discounted prices.

“We have been looking to find our way back onto Main Street for a while now, not finding just the right space,” said Kevin Frahm, store owner.

“As I navigate my way through my sixth decade on this planet, I was looking to downsize my footprint while upsizing fair trade offerings to the Chelsea community and beyond,” he said, adding, “The option of showcasing our online offerings in this location as well as maintaining a presence in the vibrant community was a no-brainer.”

Through the end of the year, our current location at 115 West Middle Street will remain open with discounted prices on select products beginning Nov.1,” Frahm said.

Beginning Oct. 28, the new location will open and have hours on Mondays through Saturdays from noon-7 p.m., and on Sundays from noon-5 p.m. Also beginning Oct.  28, the West Middle Street location hours will be Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

When Global Marketplace opens its new location, customers will discover an in-store kiosk where they can visit an online fair trade website that contains more than 1,500 fair trade items.

Frahm says that both store locations will participate in Wine, Women and Shopping on Nov. 12 with fair trade chocolate treats, coffee, spicy hot cocoa, and lots of discounts.
