July 22: What to Expect at the Saturday Farmers Market

The Saturday Chelsea Farmers Market takes place in the municipal parking lot on Park Street from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.  There is plenty of on-street parking as well as in the municipal lot behind Chelsea State Bank.

Beaded wind chimes will be the kid’s tent activity this week and music is by Annie and Rod Capps. Prescription for Health will have a special workshop on food preparation and a giveaway for their patients.

Below is a list of the vendors who are expected to be there Saturday and what they expect to bring. Please keep in mind that sometimes vendors cannot make it to market and that the items they plan to bring aren’t available.

Shorline Wild Salmon: wild caught Alaskan salmon.

Tantre Farm: arugula, beets (golden and red), cabbage (red and green), carrots, Swiss chard, collard greens, fresh garlic, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, summer onions, new potatoes, raspberries, spinach, summer squash, Hakurei white turnips, zucchini, and a wide variety of fresh herbs.

Goetz Greenhouse: corn, beans, beets, sweet onions, kale, Swiss chard, cukes, radishes, broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, spring and spicy mix, arugula, lettuce, potatoes, hanging baskets, cut flowers.  

Bean Creek Cookie Company: six packs of cookies in various flavors, including chocolate chip, molasses, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, single cookies in flavors such as snickerdoodle, triple chocolate, chocolate dipped coconut macaroons, soft pretzels, Nuts and Bolts (a version of Chex Mix.)

Thistle Blossom Herbals: hand sanitizer, healing and moisturizing balms, lavender linen spray, bug spray, air fresheners, blended oil, body oil, Boo Boo Fix It Sticks.

Fresh: locally roasted coffee beans, coffee by the cup by donation.

Debbie’s Bead Design: jewelry

Country Hills Pottery: pottery

LA Baguette: French baked goods, baguettes, rye sesame boules, madeleines, tartelettes.

Dave’s Honey:  honey in different sizes, bee’s wax, bee pollen, honey stix, honey health drink, organic free range eggs.

Stone Hearth Bakery: artisan bread baked from scratch with no preservatives, hot dog buns, cookies, triple chocolate chunk brownies, fruit breads, 4-cheese pepperoni rolls, 4-cheese habanero Jalapeno pepperoni rolls (two to a package).

Merkel Gardens: hanging baskets, perennials, bedding plants.  

Heim Gardens: green beans, carrots, squash, cukes, hanging baskets.  

Frog Hollar Farms: vegetables, baked goods, preserves, salsa, BBQ sauce, relish, salad dressing.

Kapnick Orchards: peaches, cherries, blueberries, transluscent apples, potatoes, tart cherries, baked goods.

Brieland-Shoultz Farm: eggs, jam, soap, spinach, radishes, leaf lettuce.

Two Tracks Acres: chicken, pork, beef

Affeathermations: dream catchers and other natural art.

Meyer Jam: homemade jams

H and H Sugarbush: maple syrup and maple products

Good Times Kettlecorn: kettlecorn in several sizes

Country Hills Pottery: beautiful and functional pottery

Fluffy Bottom: cheese

Yum and Crum: traditional and specialty bagels handmade, boiled and baked.

Pat-A-Cakes: gluten free flour mixtures

Feral Daughters Farm: humanely raised and pastured whole chickens and eggs

Renovatio Woodworks: Handmade furniture
