The St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea (SJMC) Nursing Education and Development Council, in collaboration with the SJMC Education Department, will host a Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Dec. 2 from 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. in the SJMC Atrium lobby, 775 South Main St.
Proceeds will benefit the SJMC Nursing Scholarship Fund.
Crafters and well-known vendors will showcase items that will appeal to everyone this holiday season. Shoppers will be able to purchase tickets for a variety of door prizes, and Joe’s Java will offer convenient box lunches.
Items may be purchased with cash and payroll deduction, and most individual vendors will accept credit cards.
The Nursing Scholarship Fund was created by SJMC in 2010 to address 21st century healthcare challenges, including a growing elder population and increased patient diversity, by encouraging higher education for registered nurses through a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher degree.
Money raised at the 2015 Extravaganza will provide scholarships to a limited number of qualified applicants pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degrees.
