Shauna Mote appointed as new CAFA board member from Lyndon Township

CAFA logo on doorAfter several years on the Chelsea Area Fire Authority Board, Linda Reilly, the Lyndon Township representative on the regional board, attended her last meeting on May 17.

“I stepped aside from the board so an interested resident could get the full picture of what was going on as a board member,” Reilly said Wednesday night.

After expressing her interest and concerns about the operations of CAFA to township officials, Shauna Mote was appointed by the Lyndon Township Board on June 14 to fill the remainder of Reilly’s term.

Reilly said Mote and other township residents had some concerns about CAFA and as a board member, Mote “will get to see the full picture.”

Reilly also recommended that Mote attend her first meeting on June 21 “with an open mind and form her own opinion.”

In an email, CAFA Board Chairman Tom Osborne thanked Reilly for her years of service to the board where she served as secretary, and welcomed Mote to the board.

Reilly, who is the Lyndon Township clerk, has offered her assistance to the new representative from the township, and plans to be in the audience at the June 21 meeting to assist if needed.
