Chelsea Rotary Club announces Mood Lifter program

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Anne Nauts for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Rotary Club is planning to pay half the cost for 10 people who want to learn new skills for improving their mental wellness.

Mood Lifters was developed at the University of Michigan Depression Center as a way to give people more tools to help themselves lead a happier life.  It’s a 15-week group that meets for 1 hour each week with a peer leader.

The strategies have been proven to work for all ages, and has now been rolled out in an online Zoom format so that during this time of social distancing and anxiety, Chelsea community members can still find ways to help themselves improve mental health.

The next session begins May 14.

The cost is usually $200, however with the support of Chelsea Rotary the first 10 people who submit a registration will be able to enroll for $100.
