Chelsea wrestlers place 4th in Ypsilanti Invitational

Chelsea finished fourth out of 15 teams, had two undefeated champions and Steve Bleise at 145 pounds, was voted the most outstanding wrestler of the Dec. 7 Ypsilanti Invitational tournament.

Placing for Chelsea were:

Tristan Koch (119lbs) 6th

Will McEachern (130bs) 4th

Steve Bleise (145lbs) 1st *also voted the most outstanding wrestler of the tournament

James Gaken (145lbs) 5th

Alonzo Taylor (152lbs) 5th

David St. Pierre (160lbs) 5th

Dan Wisniewski (171lbs) 2nd

Ryan Eisley (171lbs) 5th

Noah Manly (189lbs) 1st

Jacob Gaken (HWT) 4th

“Overall the team wrestled really well for our first tournament of the season,” said new Head Coach Adam French, who added, “The kids showed a ton of heart and I was very pleased with our work ethic.” The Bulldogs had five wrestlers with just one loss and two undefeated champs.

“The kids have been working very hard to prepare for this season and I think we should have a pretty successful year,” he said.
