Oct. 9: Chelsea Kiwanis to hear from girl scouts

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

On Saturday, Oct. 14, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club will again host a Punt, Pass, and Kick competition at the Chelsea High School practice field next to the stadium.

Register at www.kiwanisclubofchelsea.org or starting at 9:30 a.m. at the table on site.

Boys and girls age groups are: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15 years, and they will participate separately.

The competition will begin at 10 a.m. and ribbons will be awarded to the first three place finishers for both boys and girls in each of the 5 divisions.

On Monday, Kiwanis will hear from Chelsea area Girl Scout Troops. Club members are interested in hearing about all their activities since their last visit, and look forward to supporting their plans for the upcoming months.

We appreciate the support of community members during our annual Peanut Day last Friday and Saturday. That generosity is passed on to groups like the scouts who are engaged in service to others as part of their character building activities.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
