Chelsea head volleyball coach Laura Cleveland retires

(Chelsea Update apologizes for incorrectly identifying Coach Cleveland’s first name. It has been corrected.)

Chelsea High School head volleyball coach Laura Cleveland has decided to retire from her position at the high school after 18 years.

“Laura is a master teacher and coach,” said Chelsea Athletic Director Brad Bush, who added, “It has been my privilege to work with her for 21 years.”

Her teams won nine district championships, four regional championships and had two Final Four appearances in 2002 and 2006.

“She is as fine a coach as I have had the opportunity to work with,” Bush said.

“She will be greatly missed. However, this is a great opportunity for her and her family. I know that she will always be a Bulldog.”
