On Aug. 19 at 6 p.m., doors will open at Chelsea High School for a musical performance and the movie screening of “Heart for the Game: Inside the 1991 Season” a story about Chelsea’s 1991 State Championship baseball team with an introduction by Wayne Welton, former coach and CHS athletic director and current director of operations for U-M baseball.
This is a free admission fundraiser for the Chelsea Athletic Boosters.
This 85-minute feature film explores the journey of the team recently voted the greatest team in Michigan prep sports history – Chelsea’s 1991 State Championship baseball team.
The premiere will be a family-friendly, free admission, red-carpet style event intended to bring the community together for a night to celebrate the role of athletics past, present, and future.
Donations will be accepted at the door to benefit the Chelsea Athletic Boosters and are earmarked for their project to construct new athletic display cases near the gymnasium.
Semi-formal attire is encouraged, but not required.
“Heart for the Game: Inside the 1991 Season” is a Video Farm documentary directed by Robert Coelius and produced by Kerry and Theresa Plank.
