Beach 8th Grade Football Team Downs Saline, 36-28; 7th Grade Loses

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Daniel Rhodes and Shane Shane Rodriguez for the information in this story.)

8th grade football

The 8th grade football team beat Saline Tuesday night, 36-28. The Dawgs played their best football of the season and it was a great team victory.

Luke Cavanaugh led the way for the Bulldogs scoring 3 rushing touchdowns. Caden Steele also ran for one, and connected with EJ Milan for another TD pass. Brady McKale ran for a 2-point conversion and connected with Beckett Boos for another. Milan and Steele each added a 2-point conversion of their own.

The offensive line opened up massive holes all night, including great blocks from John Chapman and others. Max Collins, Hunter Burk and Buck Allen also made good plays on offense.

The defense pressured the Saline quarterback all night, and did a great job of gang tackling.

The victory was sealed when Beckett Boos recovered an onside kick, allowing the Bulldogs to run out the clock.

It was a great team win, and each player had an important role.

The Bulldogs finish out the season next Tuesday when they host the Lincoln Railsplitters.

7th grade football
The 7th grade Blue football team dropped a tough contest to Saline.

Many players turned in a great effort, especially Cody Cox at tailback.

Dylan Martin also stepped up in a big way and played multiple new positions.

The team has really learned a lot this season and we are excited to have a strong finish to the season next Tuesday.
