Beach Middle School 7 Blue Basketball on a 4-0 Roll

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Chris Orlandi for the information in this story.)

Beach 7th Grade Blue Basketball began its season last week and played four games, starting the season 4-0.

Jax Ichesco has led the way for the Bulldogs in scoring in every game averaging 14 second-half pts per game (1st half points don’t count in middle school scoring). Most notably, Jax had 24 2nd half points vs Tecumseh Saturday.

The 7th-grade boys blue basketball team sunk the Dexter Dreadnaughts last Tuesday to start the season by an official score of 19-8. Jax Ichesco scored 29 total points, with 8 of those points being counted toward the final score. While Nate Sisler, John Orlandi, Landon, Owen, and Chase McKissack were outstanding defensively.

Last Thursday, the team won an overtime thriller against Adrian, 29 – 27. Ichesco led the way with 22 pts – 15 counting toward the final score. Eli Edwards added 8 pts. Brayden Ash shut down Adrian’s top scorer and Wyatt Ewen and Manning King were also very solid defensively.

On Saturday, the 7th grade blue basketball team traveled to Adrian and beat Adrian 22 – 18 and Tecumseh 35 – 33. Chelsea managed this with only 7 players. Jax Ichesco led the way in scoring in both games and Eli Edwards was excellent on both sides of the floor. Nate Sisler injured his ankle early and played on it for both games. John Orlandi and Landon Owen shut down a 6-ft 7th grader from Tecumseh. Wyatt Ewen and Manning King played their best games of the season with Ewen knocking down a big 3.
