8th Grade
Under the lights Tuesday evening, the 8th Grade football team lost a hard fought battle to Dexter, 35-22.
The Bulldogs had several strong performances, but 5 turnovers were too much to overcome. Quarterback Caden Steele led the offense rushing for one touchdown and throwing for two more.
EJ Milan caught both touchdowns, which were both over 60-yard scores. The second of those scores was on a screen pass, where Milan made several great moves and had outstanding blocking from his offensive line.
Beckett Boos, Draper Montgomery, Josh Doyle, and Cody Kennard all had strong defensive performances, along with others not mentioned.
The Bulldogs look to cut down on the turnovers and continue their otherwise strong play against Saline next Tuesday.
7th Grade Gold
The Beach 7th grade gold team had a hard fought game against a combined Bedford team and fell short 42-0.
The team showed great physicality and improvement from previous games. Ethan Fody, Quentin Carradine, Caleb Fitch, and Nathan Paul held down the defensive line all game and made big plays. Ryett Miller had several big tackles on defense as well.
Offensively, the dogs were led by Caden Basar at QB who had several great passes to Zack Tropea and Gus Herter. Brock Koch also played well at the QB position.
The dogs look to improve again next week against Tecumseh.
7th grade blue
The 7th grade blue football team lost to Dexter 30-14, but dominated the second half to end the game on a high note.
Logan Fansler booted a beautiful onside kick to help the Dawgs. Jackson Zander had some huge blocks on offense. Landon Barkey connected on a great pass to Sam Forehand, who had a highlight reel touchdown.
Issac Snyder really stepped up to make some key late game blocks. Logan McCormick was able to step in and really help the success of the offensive line.
Jonah Borcherding was an anchor on special teams. Nick Schultz turned in his best running at tailback, notching a touchdown and a 2-pt. conversion.
Lucas Szpara was all over the place on defense, providing crushing tackles all night.
The Blue team looks to continue their improvement against Saline next week.
