Beach Middle School volleyball results from Monday night

The 7th grade gold volleyball team lost to Dexter in a tough match on Monday, Oct. 1. Paige Stacy had a 4-point serving run with all aces while Jordan Fannin had a 3-point serving run. Annie Nichol and Kendal Tucker both played very well throughout the match. The girls put up a fight but couldn’t pull out the win.

The 7th grade blue volleyball team moved their record to 4-1 by winning an exciting match at Tecumseh winning the first game 25-17, losing the 2nd 15-25 and winning the 3rd 25-19. Paige Romelhardt led in service points with 9, Alise Hale had 7, Zoe Steigerwald and Peyton Vandegrift each had 5 points, Emily Griggs, Sydney Hines and Melissa Jolly each had 2 points and Emma Verrette had 1. Outstanding defensive play was turned in by Sydney Hines, Maggie Duve, Claire Kelly and Kara Nold.

The 8th grade gold volleyball won their set against Dexter. Leading servers where Anna KnightAutumn Johnson, and Sara StribeAlannah Saxton, Gwen Lansky and Kourtney Long also improved on their serving. All the girls played as a team.

Last night the 8th grade blue volleyball team put up a good fight against a tough Tecumseh team, but dropped all three games in the match.  The night’s top scorers were Allie Heinen with 8 points and Sidney Bailey with 5 points.  Olivia Leonard had good sets during the match and Catherine Wellman had strong play on the net.
