The Beach Middle School wrestlers competed at the JAWS tournament Saturday in Jackson, wrestling in five dual meets and finishing 3-2 on the day.
The Bulldogs improved their season record to 10-4 with victories over Jackson Catholic, Charlotte and Jonesville.
They lost dual meets with Springport and Parma Western.
The tournament was a great test of each wrestler’s ability as it was very tough and many of the wrestlers wrestled 4 or 5 matches. Only 2 wrestlers Corbyn Munson and Hunter Adams were able to finish the day undefeated both went 4-0.
The only other wrestler who was able to win 4 matches was Zach Taylor.
Winning 3 matches on the day was Matt Van Buren, Nick Bleise, and Ethan Corkin-Howell. Winning 2 matches was Nathan Hovater, Mason Trinkle, Joshua Dosey, Gus Reynolds, James Mida, and Kara Nold.
The wrestlers next meet is today in Saline.
