(Chelsea Update would like to thank Coach Eric Swager for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea boys track team recently competed in the Kermit Ambrose (EMU) Invitational.
Below are the highlights.

“This is a nice meet to start off the season,” Coach Eric Swager said, adding, “We brought a small contingent of runners, in various stages of fitness.  Overall, I was pleased by our efforts, the team tied for 2nd out of 21 teams, which is no small accomplishment.”

Some very impressive performances included:

  • Bailey Edward’s 60 dash
  • Noah Van Reesema’s PR high jump and hurdle races
  • Mike Smith’s shot put
  • The relays and distance runners ran hard and had a good attitude all day.

“It will be interesting this year trying to put the pieces of a championship-contending squad together,” he said. “We have a lot of young guys/new guys that will be contributors as the season progresses.  As long as we keep working hard as a team, I believe we will have considerable success.”

The team takes on Ypsilanti on Tuesday, March 31 at home.
