Cancer Support Community’s ‘The Amazing Race’ going viral

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bonnie Dockham for the information in this story.)

St. Joseph Mercy Health System, University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center and The Juergens Nolan Mattson Group of Merrill Lynch present: The Cancer Support Community’s 12th Annual Amazing Race, to be held virtually on Saturday, June 27, at 4 p.m.

In previous years ,The Amazing Race has been a road rally/scavenger hunt where teams of four solved clues, hunted for hidden locations around the city, completed silly activities while racing to be the first team to complete the course.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the CSC has adapted the event to a virtual platform that will encompass all the same fun as previous years while keeping everyone involved safe.

The event will require the same amount of brainpower, laughter and silliness as in past years. You will work together to solve puzzles and complete activities, all while competing with the other participants in real-time.

Teams can be composed of people from various locations using up to four different devices. An Amazing Race ticket costs $50 and covers the entry of up to four players on your team. Join us to test your wits and creativity from the comfort of your home, all while supporting the CSC.

The CSC provides free cancer support services to all people affected by cancer. These programs range from professionally facilitated support groups, exercise and nutrition programs to children and family programming.

CSC is the only organization in the community that focuses solely on improving the quality of life of people affected by cancer. All programs are provided free of charge.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the CSC is continuing to provide professional opportunities for connection via free online programs that use HIPAA compliant video conferencing.

Serving more than 1,100 people annually, CSC has only seen an increase in service provision since moving to an online format.

Have some fun safely while supporting people impacted by cancer. Purchase your team ticket by visiting the website at www.A2AmazingRace.com.

The center is located at 2010 Hogback Road, Suite 3, Ann Arbor. For more information: www.cancersupportannarbor.org
