Visit the Chelsea Wednesday Farmers Market this week and load up on a variety of sweet and sour cherries and other fresh produce.

There will also be fresh breads, cakes and cookies at the market as well as plants- perennials, annuals, and hanging baskets.

If you notice an appealing scent wafting through the market, it’s probably Good Times Kettle Corn. Marge Mills cooks her kettle corn on site using top quality corn and corn oil. The Pinckney resident says she enjoys being a vendor at the Chelsea farmers market because, “It has a good variety of vendors and customers.”

This Wednesday’s market will feature singer guitarist Bill Personke playing a blend of rock, folk, and rhythm and blues.

The Wednesday market is located in the Chelsea State Bank parking lot, at 1010 S. Main St., near the corner of Old US-12 and M-52 and runs from 1-5 pm.

There is a new regional (Chelsea, Grass Lake, Manchester and Stockbridge) food assistance program to help get healthy market food on the tables of those in need. It’s aimed at folks who don’t quite meet SNAP criteria. Be sure to inquire at the market.
