Chelsea Boys Track moves to 4-1 following win over Jackson

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Eric Swager for the information in this story.)

Chelsea boys track and field improved to a dual meet record of 4-1 with a decisive home victory over Jackson.

The visitors had some talented sprinters, but the home team overcame them with its depth across the board.

β€œIt was a beautiful, warm day – thanks to all the workers and fans that came out to support us,” said coach Eric Swager.

Individually, Conell Alford ran a couple very even races to win both the 3200 and the 1600.

Dominic Guthre vaulted 13’6″ – a new personal best. He is now among the top 10 vaulters in school history.

Will Barhite won two events, and the sprint relay teams made some BIG strides Tuesday.

The team looks forward to a fun meet – the Mason Invitational on Friday, followed next Tuesday by our final dual meet in Dexter. It should be a barnburner, the coach said.
