Chelsea Brownie Troop 40154 held a special bench dedication at North Creek Elementary School.

Jodi Gagnon, co-leader of the Brownie troop, said last May, the girls in the troop made a mosaic bench with the help of artist Lorin Kummer, which was donated to the school.

“It was all fun,” Kummer said. “The girls worked really hard.”

Kummer said it was a low bench with squirrels on it and they planted daisies and there are stepping stones that light up leading up to it.

Plus, she said, her granddaughter participated in the service project.

Northcreek Elementary Principal Marcus Kaemming said, “The bench is a wonderful addition to our outside landscape.”

“More importantly,” he said, “For the girls who worked on it, we see their dedication to giving back to their school.”

Also important to Kaemming, “The Scout’s mission and our (school’s) Bucket Filling go hand-in-hand. We love it.”

The scouts who worked on the project were Kynze Gilbert, Emily Gagnon, Lindsey Favre, Madeline Collins, Sara Martin, Kate Krugh, Caroline Knight, Jenna Ouellette, and Maya Valik.
