Chelsea City Council OK’s farm to table fundraising event

The Chelsea City Council gave its approval on Monday, July 18 for a new Farm to Table fundraising event that will benefit the farmers markets in the Five Healthy Towns of Chelsea, Manchester, Stockbridge, Dexter and Grass Lake.

The 5 Healthy Towns Farm to Table event will take place on Sunday, Aug. 21 from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Palmer parking lot, (site of the Chelsea Farmer’s Market) 222 S. Main St.

Tickets are $65.

This local feast is planned on a long table that seats 150 people and includes local fruit and vegetables, meat, wine, and beer, flowers and more the 5 Healthy Towns’ Farmers Markets.

Local chefs Craig Common from The Common Grill,  Alex Young from Zingerman’s Roadhouse, Ben Vermeylen from St. Joe Hospital-Chelsea, Dave Gallinat from Plaid Melon, Dawna Stockwell from Stockwell’s Catering and  Britt Keene from Roaming Goat Coffee are all expected to take part.

It’s a fundraiser that celebrates “Eat Better” and all proceeds will benefit the 5 Healthy Towns Farmers Markets.

The 5 Healthy Towns Wellness Coalition plans this fundraiser in the Palmer parking lot on Sunday, Aug. 21 from 4:45-7:30 p.m.
