(Chelsea Update would like to thank Lynn Fox for the information in this story.)

The award-winning Chelsea Community Garden, located at Timbertown, currently has several 20 foot by 20 foot garden plots available for the upcoming season. Cost per plot is $20 per year along with an initial deposit of $20.

Gardeners are required to provide six hours of Community Garden service per plot before, during or after the gardening season.

Garden service includes such things as mowing paths, tool and shed maintenance, tending group plots of asparagus and blueberries, work bees for composting and spring start and fall shutdown of the solar water pump system.

Gardens are organic only. No pesticides or non-organic fertilizers are allowed. Extra vegetables are donated to the local food pantry at Faith in Action.

Please call 734-719-0035, leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Join us for a wonderful gardening season.
