Chelsea Community Hospital adds highly specialized care physicians to ICU

Chelsea Community Hospital (CCH) now has a group of highly regarded, specialized physicians to provide clinical coverage and consultations in its Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Pulmonary & Critical Care Associates of Ann Arbor is currently seeing patients Monday through Friday, in the hospital’s ICU. All of the physicians in this group hold Critical Care Certifications, and serve as Intensivists and Pulmonologists to some of CCH’s most critical patients.

“We are so pleased to welcome this group of physicians to our ICU,” said Nancy Graebner, president and CEO of CCH in a press release.

“CCH has long desired to have critical care certified physicians available to our critical care patients, ensuring that some of our more serious patients can receive the highest level of care in Chelsea without requiring a transfer to another facility. It is an important step forward for our ICU and for the communities we serve,” she said.

The group consists of Christine Curran, MD, medical director of both Chelsea’s ICU and Saint Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor’s Medical ICU; Thomas Gravelyn, MD; William Patton, MD; Gregory Stone, MD; Kamal Mubarak, MD; Rajeev Swarup, MD; Parvathy Nair, MD; and Arwa Mohamed Hosni, MD.

“Our physicians are pleased to work with our partners at Chelsea,” Curran said, adding. “After serving patients in Chelsea’s outpatient clinic for many years as well as the ICU at Saint Joe’s, it is a natural fit for us to provide that same level of care for critical patients at CCH.”

Pulmonary & Critical Care Associates also sees patients for follow up care and outpatient needs in the Specialty Clinic, located in the Professional Building on the CCH campus, allowing members of our community to receive quality, continuous care close to home.

“Our practice has collaborated with CCH for many years, and we look forward to working with them to bring their Intensive Care Unit additional support from our Certified Critical Care Physicians,” Gravelyn said. “We’re pleased to bring this high level of care to Chelsea and the surrounding communities.”
