Are you a beginning food entrepreneur looking for a class that will certify you as a Food Protection Manager?

Or maybe you just lead your church or community group dinner fundraisers?

No matter what level of training, Chelsea Community Kitchen has a Food Safety class to meet your needs with two classes offered in the next month.

Chelsea Community Kitchen (CCK) has scheduled its next ServSafe Food Protection Manager training for Monday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at 128 Park St.  The training helps you fulfill the Michigan Food Law requirement to have a manager certified in food safety in each food service establishment.

CCK-logo-smallServSafe Food Handler Training is also available for workers who need food safety training who are not managers. The next class is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The fee for the Food Protection Manager class is $140. This includes the cost of study materials and a ServSafe book (a valuable reference for you after the class as you apply for your license), and the test.

Register by Jan. 27 to receive the study materials.  The class requires reading the book and completing assignments that are brought to the class for review.

The fee for ServSafe Food Handler training is $20 and includes a reference book and a test.  Register by Feb. 16 to participate.

If you need recertification, contact us and we will provide details for participating in this class at a recertification level. You will not need to attend the entire class.

We can also arrange tutorials, and proctoring of tests for those who choose to take ServSafe’s online course.  Contact us for information about fees for these services.

Chelsea Community Kitchen: Connecting food entrepreneurs, educators and local food enthusiasts with kitchens they can rent; providing education and counseling support for people who want to start or grow a food-based business using local ingredients; educating consumers about eating local and healthy.  See our website here for online registration or email us at [email protected].
