Chelsea Community Kitchen will help you with holiday entertaining that’s gluten-free on Thursday, Nov. 6 from 7-9 p.m. in the kitchen of the Chelsea First United Methodist Church.
Mona Ottum, RD, will provide hands-on instruction in planning menus, hidden sources of gluten, local sources of gluten-free food and flours, and other tips for cooking and entertaining.
The fee for this series is $20 and the church is located at 128 Park St.
Ottum has been a registered dietitian for six years, with both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s (expected in 2014) from Eastern Michigan University.
She recently started a private practice as a nutrition consultant and wellness coach. This is a second career for Ottum, who received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Her scientific background has led to an approach that is profoundly science-based and cutting edge to help clients and patients cut through the fads and confusion. She has advanced training in weight management and functional medicine.
