Chelsea Friends and Family Wellness Coalition recommends intervention funding recipients

By Lisa Carolin

Interventions that received recommendations from the plan team review were announced at the March 2 meeting of the Chelsea Friends and Family Wellness Coalition and are on the way to being funded.

Although the final budget will not be announced until March 28, the amount approved for the Chelsea interventions will be between $50,000 and $100,000.

The interventions that will be receiving funding are:

  • Chelsea Farmers Market
  • Camp Gabika
  • SRSLY
  • Adaptive Movement
  • Wellness Resources for Chelsea Students with Housing Instability
  • Eddy Discovery Center Nature Play Area
  • Beach Middle School Heart Rate Monitors

If the budget is at least $75,000, Wellness Weekends at Polly’s, Run for the Rolls and the Heart and Sole run will also be funded.

If the budget is at least $100,000, Fit to the Beat Teen classes at the Chelsea Wellness Center, and Ceill Dances, a form of folk dance from Ireland, will also receive funding.

The Wellness Coalition meets next on April 13.
