The Chelsea girls’ track and field team lost a close dual meet with Lincoln by just one point, 69-68, on Tuesday, May 6.

“Many girls had outstanding performances to keep pace with an undefeated division 1 Lincoln squad, but yesterday it just wasn’t enough,” said Shane Rodriquez, girls’ track and field coach.

“I am happy and proud of all of the efforts of our girls, and we are looking forward to competing hard in the SEC finals, then regional, MITCA, and MHSAA finals this month,” he said.

The girls’ team continues to be ranked 2nd overall in the state in division 2 out of 150 schools.

The coach also wanted to thank all of the parents and volunteers who made the home meets happen.

“Our coaching staff is incredibly grateful for all of help and support,” he said.
