On Wednesday, May 4 the Chelsea High School softball team traveled to Dexter for an SEC crossover double header with the Dreadnaughts.
In game 1, Dexter took an early 2-0 lead before Chelsea battled back scoring one in the 2nd and two in the 5th to win the game 3-2.
Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by Mya Purdy, Bekah Zachrich and Emilee Underwood who each tallied two hits in the game. Purdy hit her 4th home run this season.
Emilee Underwood was dominate in the circle, pitching 7 innings, surrendering 3 hits, 2 walks, while striking out 10 on the day.
In game 2 ,Chelsea’s bats came alive scoring 5 runs in the first inning in route to a 12-2 win. Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by Andi Evers who was 4 for 4 on her birthday with 5 RBI’s. Evers homered in the first inning her 4th home run of the season.
Maggie Olaveson, Zoey Monica, Megan McCalla, Mya Purdy and Bekah Zachrich had multiple hits in the contest.
Megan McCalla recorded her 5th win of the season surrendering 1 hit while striking out 3.
With the sweep of Dexter, Chelsea runs its record to 14-2 on the season.
