Chelsea State Bank recently supported local businesses with cash donations during the COVID-19 Pandemic including non-profit Faith in Action and the small business Ugly Dog Distillery as they work to help our local communities.
“As the local community bank, we want to do all we can to help the families and businesses in our communities during these unprecedented times,” said Chelsea State Bank President Joanne Rau in a press release.
“Faith in Action and Ugly Dog Distillery are two examples of organizations coming together to help those in our communities – each with their own unique skills and services,” she said.
Faith in Action has a 40-year history of mobilizing individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations to provide emergency food for anyone in need in Dexter, Chelsea, and surrounding communities. Ugly Dog Distillery, one of the oldest craft distilleries in the United States, is now making free bottles of hand sanitizer gel. Ugly Dog Distillery diverted its normal production to making an FDA approved formula of hand sanitizing gel, making the product available to local Chelsea area residents and businesses that are in need, including the Senior Living Centers, the Chelsea Police and Chelsea Fire departments for their use.
“In times of crisis like this we all need to give back to those in need, and we felt that this was a little something we could do to say thank you to those who have supported us,” said Ugly Dog Distillery CEO David Salmon.
