(Chelsea Update is running a series on businesses in Chelsea beginning with businesses that belong to the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce. This week’s focus is Robin Hills Farm.)

Robin Hills Farm, located just north of Chelsea, is a working and demonstration farm, an education facility, and a tourist destination.

“As an agricultural tourism destination, our goals are to engage the community through educational opportunities and family fun events, to provide an elegant space for private functions, to connect people to good, local food, and to demonstrate and share future agricultural technologies,” said Roy Xu, managing partner of Robin Hills Farm.

Xu says the mission of Robin Hills is to create a place of lifelong learning and discovery in a space rich in natural resources and sustainable design.

Robin Hills tries to appeal to all types of visitors from those who want to visit the animals in the petting farm to those who want to grab a meal and sit in the greenhouse patio, to those who want to participate in a class.

The property was purchased in June 2014 and the first community supported agriculture program as well as classes began in the summer of 2015.

“We plan to be officially open to the public this coming summer of 2017,” said Xu.

He praises the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce for its support and for connecting Robin Hills to the community as well as area businesses.

“Chelsea has not only been incredibly supportive, but the community-oriented nature of the city has been a breath of fresh air,” said Xu. “In addition, Chelsea is a very unique mix of rural and urban, city and country, and Robin Hills farm reflects a similar blend and ethos.”
