Among the business items that the Chelsea City Council approved on Monday, Dec. 14, was their 2016 regular meeting schedule.
And, for the first time in several years, the elected officials will not be meeting on any Federal holidays.
In 2016, the regular meeting dates — of the first and third Mondays of the month at 7 p.m. — fall on four Federal Holidays — MLK Day, Presidents Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.
But this year, the City Council voted to move those meetings forward one day to the Tuesday following those Monday holidays.
In January, they will meet on Monday, Jan. 4 and Tuesday, Jan. 19,
In February, they will meet on Monday, Feb. 1 and Tuesday, Feb. 16,
In July, they will meet on Tuesday, July 5 and Monday, July 18
In September, they will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 6 and Monday, Sept. 19.
(Per the City Charter, in December, there is just one meeting.)
