Youth equestrians, from age 4-19 years, will compete all week riding in four divisions at the 76th Annual Chelsea Community Fair.

Horse and Pony Superintendent Lucy Heimerdinger says the young riders will compete in four divisions: Hunt seat (English), Western, Saddleseat and Contesting.

And, there’s also halter, showmanship and championship classes on Tuesday.

Senior and junior divisions take place all day on Wednesday, Aug. 21, while walk/trot, beginner and lead-line classes take place on Thursday, Aug. 22

The popular contesting classes take place on Friday, while Saturday is a fun day for the riders.

Spectators will see about 30 riders and about 35 horses and ponies including those ridden by members of both the Chelsea High School and Beach Middle School equestrian teams, Heimerdinger says.

Entries are up from last year, she says.
