The deadline for artists is fast approaching for the Sounds & Sights Festival Art Market.

The market is an indie arts and crafts fair coinciding with a variety of festivities and attractions associated with the Chelsea Sounds & Sights Festival.

In its 39th year and held in downtown Chelsea, the event draws more than 12,000 visitors annually and features national and regional live music acts, local food and brew, a sculpture walk and activities for the entire family.

The Art Market is a juried event limited to 30 local and regional arts and crafts people of exceptional quality, and artists willing to demonstrate their processes are also highly sought.

The application deadline is April 26.

The festival begins Thursday, July 24 with the Art Market on Friday and Saturday, July 26-27 from noon to 8 p.m.

The booth fee is $100 for the weekend and demonstrating artists participate for the reduced rate of $50.
