Gold is the new (black) Friday in Chelsea

Gold is the new black in Chelsea today, in fact, for the whole three-day weekend, Nov. 23-25.

This year, Vogel’s and Foster’s is hosting Chelsea Gold, a local alternative to the Black Friday madness, according to information from the store.

It’s a way to remind the community to “shop local, support local, and keep your money local.

Vogel’s and Foster’s and other area merchants have agreed to donate a portion of sales to the Chelsea School District general fund.

Chelsea Gold will be held the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – so look for gold balloons and ask merchants if they are participating.

Enjoy free gift-wrapping and refreshments at stores sporting gold balloons.

The fundraiser takes place from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

In addition, Bulldog Computers has offered to compile a list of all the weekend merchant specials in Chelsea this weekend
