In photos: American Legion Post 31 July 4th chicken BBQ July 5, 2013 Legion members get the chicken ready for the BBQ pit. Chicken halves head to the BBQ pit. Once on the grills, the secret sauce and spices are added. Throughout the day about 600 chicken halves were cooked. And flipped, grill by grill. Then taken inside the Legion Post building and put in take out containers along with slaw, baked beans, a roll, and chips. And, if you got there early enough, you could choose a dessert, too.
