The Chelsea freshmen football team lost its game against Carlson High School by a score of 30 – 14.

Chelsea came out strongly as Nate Christian connected with Jimmy Sciackitano on passes of 28 and 32 yards on the Bulldog’s 2nd and 3rd offensive plays from scrimmage. The 2nd completion went for a touchdown and put Chelsea up 7-0.

Carlson scored on its first possession to make the score 7-6, but Chelsea made the score 14-6 after a 15-yard Christian to Drew Weinberg TD pass.

Carlson scored on its next possession to tie the game at 14.

The score remained 14-14 at halftime.

The 2nd half was all Carlson, as they dominated the half and secured a 36-14 victory.

“I was disappointed because we were just outplayed physically,” the coach said, adding, “At the end, our defense knew what plays were coming, but we couldn’t stop them. Offensively, we just don’t execute consistently enough to score a lot of points.”

The coach said, “I’m having a lot of fun coaching this group. I see them maturing and improving and I’m excited for the games in front of them and what they will accomplish in the years to come.”
