Jake Burris works with Special Olympians before NCAA swim and dive championships

Jake Burris will represent Albion College in the diving events in the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which begin on Wednesday.

The senior from Chelsea, was among a group of divers who took time out of training on Tuesday to coach a group of Special Olympians from the pool deck.

“It is always fun giving back to a sport that has been a big part of my life,” Burris, the four-time NCAA Championships qualifier and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Male Most Valuable Diver, said. “It was rewarding to watch the athlete’s excitement as they learned a new skill.”

Burris’ NCAA competition schedule includes the 1-meter on Thursday and the 3-meter on Saturday.
