Chelsea Senior Center (CSC) is excited to announce that Jennifer Smith has been named the new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer effective July 1, upon the retirement of Bill O’Reilly.

Smith has served as the CSC Assistant Director since 2019 and Program Manager for five years prior.

“Jennifer was unanimously approved by the CSC Board on May 9,” said Jerry Wilczynski, president, Chelsea Senior Center Board of Directors in a press release. “Jennifer has the experience, passion and commitment to the Chelsea Senior Center and is certainly the best person to lead the organization.”

In her 10 years with CSC, Smith has a proven track record of designing innovative senior programs and securing funding to support them, including the Memory Support Program and Ease the Day. She has a proven ability to establish collaborative relationships through partnerships with local government, businesses, donors and members of CSC.

She has worked alongside the current executive director and has played an integral role in strategic planning and fundraising, while being a thoughtful leader and team builder amongst staff and volunteers.

“Jennifer is an incredible leader and has demonstrated her passion for CSC over the years,” Wilczynski said. “She is committed to the senior center’s mission and is well-respected by her peers, CSC members and volunteers.”

“I am extremely grateful to be named executive director,” Smith said. “The organization has changed and grown significantly since I joined in 2014. One thing that hasn’t changed is our culture and commitment to the mission. At CSC, I found my place. My connections with my teammates, our members and volunteers are genuine and real. It is an honor to now lead this organization into the future.”

Chelsea Senior Center (CSC) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life and well-being for area seniors and their families.

Chelsea Senior Center is located at 512 Washington St. Contact CSC at [email protected] or (734) 475-9242.
