The Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC) will host its 2018 summer fundraising event, Rustic Rose, on Saturday, July 14 from 5-8:30 p.m. at Nixon Farms in Dexter.

Proceeds will support The Rose’s 27th Season of American plays and its educational programs.

“We are excited to continue the annual support and success from our previous fundraising events,” said PRTC Managing Director Katie Hubbard. “The tremendous outcome from last season’s summer BBQ, which totaled nearly $250,000, is one our patrons, sponsors, auction contributors, volunteers, staff, and board are very proud of, and we look forward to setting new records this year.”

The evening will include a strolling reception and buffet dinner prepared by Chef Todd Brown, featuring California wines and Michigan microbrews. Resident Artist Paul Stroili, recently onstage in PRTC’s Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Elusive Ear world premiere as Dr. Watson, will emcee the entertainment.

Silent and live auctions will offer a wide selection of items including a Grand Hotel Getaway on Mackinac Island, Monday Night Football premium suite for Detroit Lions’ Coach Matt Patricia’s opening home game, a 6-night South African Safari Adventure, floor seats to Elton John’s Farewell Tour and a 3-night stay in New York City, and an autographed Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron poster.

Bidders will also have the opportunity to win a deluxe trip for eight to see Jeff Daniels on Broadway as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, complete with private jet transportation, backstage passes, and accommodation.

Michigan champion auctioneer Jason Lamoreaux, owner of Lamoreaux Auction and Appraisal LLC in Belding, Michigan, will conduct the live auction.

A highlight of the evening will be a special performance directed by The Rose’s Artistic Director Guy Sanville. Resident Artists will present selections from the upcoming 2018-19 season, including a new Jeff Daniels play.

Rustic Rose tickets are $135 per person and may be purchased by calling 734-433-7782, ext. 29.

Additional information can be found at www.purplerosetheatre.org/rust ic-rose/.

The tax-deductible portion of each ticket is $59. Mobile bidding for the online auction will begin July 1 at noon at www.RusticRose.Gesture.com for those who pre-register.

The Rustic Rose benefit is sponsored by Chelsea Rhone, Jim and Debbie Beuche, Varsity Ford, Encompass Financial Partners/AssetMark, Inc., The Huntington National Bank, Maria Kelley and Peter Largen, LangeTwins Family Winery and Vineyard, Antoinette Pilzner and Daniel Moons, Chelsea State Bank, Barbara and Jeff Duncan, Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, North Peak Brewing Co., and Outliers LLC.
