June 13-14: Enjoy ‘A Day in the Village’ festival in downtown Stockbridge

A Day in The Village festival in Stockbridge celebrates its 20th year on June 13-14, and this year there are some wonderful additions to the festivities.

Friday, June 13:

  • Friday events start at 10 a.m. with the annual Stockbridge Arts Council Art Show inside the beautiful Town Hall.
  • Arts and crafts booths will fill the Town Square.
  • Area musicians will play all day in the gazebo, and food will be on hand from fair vendors plus special deals will be offered by local restaurants.
  • The Stockbridge Cheer Team will hold a car wash from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the parking lot next to SSB Bank.
  • The Stockbridge Open Air Market will be offer homemade and homegrown goods between 4-7 p.m.  From 5-6 p.m. watch for Boyer’s Balloon Sculptures, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 
  • Then at 6 p.m., free entertainment continues with Billy Mack and the Juke Joint Johnnies in Veterans Memorial Park.  And, watch for the awards for Volunteer of the Year and Father of the Year during the band’s intermission.
  • A kids’ Treasure Hunt will be held for two age groups at 7 and 8 p.m. Dee Dee the Clown will do her famous face-painting from 7-9 p.m. Fair food and Glow-in-the-Dark necklaces and bracelets will be available for purchase.

It will be the biggest fireworks show yet sponsored by Adiska Family Dental and the Stockbridge Area Chamber of Commerce.

Saturday, June 14

  • Saturday events begin at 8 a.m. with the 5k Run/Walk kicking off at Stockbridge High School sponsored by the Stockbridge Area Wellness Coalition.
  • Everyone is invited to join in the 3rd annual Pet Parade so bring your pet on a leash. The parade will line up in the grassy lot across the street from the First Presbyterian Church C.E. Building at 9:45 a.m. and the parade will kick off at 10 a.m.
  • Arts and crafts booths and the Art Show will reopen at 10 a.m. on the Square.
  • The Stockbridge Volleyball Team will hold a car wash at Pelton’s Towing from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 
  • Don’t miss the Classic Car Show on N. Center St from 11 a.m.-3.p.m. in front of Backstreet Steak and Seafood.
  • Watch the Community Education Youth Dance Drill Team perform at 11:30 a.m. on the Square.
  • Kids’ rides will be held from noon-4 p.m. on the grounds of the First Presbyterian Church – these rides are free due, in part, to the support of the Stockbridge Lions Club.
  • And, kids should sign up to win one of three bicycles up for raffle – come to the Chamber of Commerce booth in the middle of the Town Square to enter – it’s free.
  • Be sure to enter the Pie Eating Contest on the Town Square at 1:30 p.m.

There will be a lot to do all day long – both days.
