Katie K Designs can help you rebrand your business

New business owner Katie Klink knows how to “Dream, Believe, Dare, Do.”

If this slogan sounds familiar, it’s Walt Disney’s credo – something which Klink has lived first-hand as a seasonal employee for Disney in Orlando.

And, she’s taken it to heart – dreaming about having her own graphic design business, believing in her unique creativity, daring to take a leap of faith, and just doing it.

Plus, she’s learned the art of customer relations from her time at Disney.

So, welcome to Katie K Designs, where Klink, a 2007 Chelsea High School grad, designs logos, menus, invitations, letterhead, business cards, wine labels, book covers, T-shirts, brochures, posters, print ads, marketing collateral, product packaging, Music CD’s, postcards, event programs, announcements and catalogs.

She launched the business about a year after graduating (debt-free, she says proudly) from Saginaw Valley State in 2011.

But, her interest in graphic design actually began with her first job at Colorbok in Dexter — where she says she constantly asked the designers questions.

“I like looking at things and knowing I can make them,” she says.

Another Katie K Design

It’s something that’s fascinated her since she was a young kid.

“I have a design mind,” she says, “and the magic of creating never gets old.”

So when faced with a tight job market, she decided to take the plunge and launched Katie K Designs at the end of August, 2012.

The Chelsea Treehouse was one of her first Chelsea clients. In fact, her bagel signs can be seen on the median near the business on M-52. And some of her menu ideas can be viewed inside.

Klink says her favorite designs are logos because they brand a business and a fresh one for 2013 might be just the ticket to increased sales.

“I’m here and I’m local,” she says of her new business and her designs are “custom and one of a kind. They can be trademarked.”

Klink says, “in this economy, rebranding might be good because customers notice these types of things. They see an upgrade and wonder what else might be new.”

She says as a Chelsea resident, she’s supported local businesses all her life and hopes that they will support her, too.
