Madison Brodeur, a senior at Chelsea High School and reigning Chelsea Community Fair queen, attended the Michigan State Police American Legion Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Program from July 14-19.

Thirty-Two high school students from across Michigan attended this program. Brodeur was the only member from Chelsea High School to participate in the academy. She was also a participant in the Michigan State Police Kiwanis Law Enforcement Career Academy in the summer of 2018.

For the American Legion Program, Brodeur was chosen as class orator.  She received a $500 college scholarship for showing dedication and strength during the six days of the challenging mental and physical demands.

She is proud to share her efforts with her family, especially her father and older sister Hanna.

Michigan State Police Inspector Joseph Brodeur has dedicated 25 years of his life with the Michigan State Police. Hanna Brodeur was also a participant in this program in 2015, as well as the Kiwanis academy in 2014.

Their two younger brothers, Joseph and Dominic, will be next in line to attend.

A huge amount of gratitude goes out to all the men and women in the Michigan State Police who continue to support the welfare of all Michigan citizens.

And a big thank you to both the American Legion and Kiwanis organizations for sponsoring these wonderful programs.
